If you're looking to create some seasonal knitted or crocheted decorations for your home, I have a few patterns you may find handy:

A Poinsettia plant in a planter with a red cable knitted cover with a cream ribbon bow with a stained glass window in the background

Planter Cowl

My knitted planter cowl pattern is available on Ravelry and looks great in red around the pot of a poinsettia (my favourite Christmas decoration!) or how about working it up in blue, white and purple to match a winter hyacinth arrangement? Add a toning ribbon with a bow to the eyelets or perhaps an i-cord for a softer look and your plants will be ready for the festive season.

A knitted miniature wreath in green yarn with yellow french knots and a red tassel and bow appears to the front of a knitted swatch in red and green with a yellow zigzag

Mini Wreath Ornament

Did you get a copy of my Day at the Beach Bag pattern on Ravelry when it launched recently? If so, you may like to work up the charm included in the pattern in the colours of a cheery Christmas wreath. Instructions for this are included in the "Make it your own" section of the pattern and then you could simply add a loop of yarn or ribbon to the top to hang it on your tree.

Flower Garland

My flower garland pattern is free on my blog and is a really speedy make, so ideal for a last minute autumn look or if you're more organised than me and already thinking about Christmas decorations, it's perfect for that too.

Worked up with three strands of aran/worsted yarn, it's easy to combine a few colours for a familiar seasonal palette; to match your home's colour scheme; or in an unusual combination for an eye-catching garland over your fireplace/staircase/window/tree or swirled around place settings and serving dishes on the table for your celebration meal. What colours would you choose?

Four triangular knitted tree ornaments with chevron shaped tinsel formed by a textured stitch, ribbon hanging loops and wooden button trunks are arranged top points together forming a semi-circle on a wooden table

Textured Tinsel Trees

My knitted Christmas ornament pattern was in Knit Now Magazine's Crafts for Christmas supplement last month. It is a fun, quick knit that uses simple stitches and a little seaming to give the effect of colourful tinsel draped over a Christmas tree. Add a ribbon loop and wooden button trunk and your trees are ready to hang on your tree!

Knit Now Issue 147 was on sale in the UK from Wednesday 5th October but if you didn't get a copy, you can still order online from Craft Stash. You can also purchase a digital edition of the magazine via the PocketMags app.
