Why choose the Big Flowers Crochet Squares Pattern Collection?

This dramatic and romantic collection of floral motif accessories is like a beautiful bouquet of tropical blooms gathered from the hot house to bring a cheery touch to your wardrobe and warmth to your shoulders on cool summer evenings.
The fun stitches and simple construction make this an interesting, yet relaxing make and the flower motifs are an excellent portable project to carry with you on the go. This make also offers the chance for stash-busting to use small quantities of your favourite leftover yarn scraps in the floral section, turning your shawl into an album of your favourite craft memories.
Big Flowers Crochet Pattern Collection includes a wonderful range of makes for the home and to wear, including two coaster/appliqué designs, two 5cm/6" square designs, a scarf, a headscarf, a neckerchief, a triangle shawl, a stole and a rectangle shawl. In addition, six inch squares are a popular size for crochet designs and the Big Flowers Squares can be used alongside any others of the same size in sampler blankets, bags, cushions or whatever you like to make with crocheted squares.
Creating the Big Flowers Crochet Pattern Collection

I worked on the sample during my children's summer holiday, so we had days out by public transport and lots of times where I was watching them in playgrounds before finally travelling to visit family for a week and it was a perfect travel project; although the finished piece is long, the lightweight yarn meant it was very compact and easy to carry about or work on in the car, bus or train. The easy, repetitive stitch pattern meant I was able to carry on with my crochet whilst catching up with friends and family or watching the children enjoy the sunny weather in the parks and playgrounds we visited.

I was delighted with the yarn too. Drops Muskat was very smooth and has a great sheen which worked really well for this design.
Getting to wear the finished projects was lovely. They're so pretty and perfect for the arrival of summer!

I was fortunate to work with some great testers including Kate (@itwasyarn) and QFamilyCrafts who gave feedback on how the pattern could be improved before being released. I really loved to see how their versions turned out, and was impressed at Kate's clever customisation to create a hairband using a similar method to the Scarf design and and the lovely colours and use of variegated yarn by QFamilyCrafts. The testers gave such helpful and clear feedback to improve the pattern for you. Here's a few photos of their finished work. Many thanks to them for their help in getting this pattern ready for publication and for the lovely photos of their beautiful finished projects. I'm always so grateful for my testers' work! If you are interested in testing one of my patterns in future, just sign up to my mailing list. I offer all my new pattern testing opportunities to subscribers first.
