Unwinding Accessories Headband and Mitts Knitting Pattern
Inspired by swirling frosty patterns on metal surfaces in winter, this mittens and headband set features snug feeling cables combined with a soft yarn to keep you cosy and chic.
You’ll find this is a relaxing make overall with a few interesting details to keep you motivated.
Sizes: Adult S (M, L) hand and head . Band designed to fit with 2.5-5cm 1-2" negative ease.Mitts designed to fit with 0-2.5cm/0-1" negative ease
Tension: 25 sts x 34 rows = 10cm x 10cm / 4” x 4” measured over stocking stitch.
Working method: Band knitted flat from back neck on a provisional cast on which is then grafted to the stitches in the final row. Mitts knitted in the round from cuff to thumb division, continued over hand with thumb stitches on waste yarn and completed by working thumb.

Requirements
Rowan Alpaca Soft DK (70% wool, 30% alpaca; 125m/137 yds per 50g ball) or similar yarn
Deep Rose 206: 1 (1, 2) skeins/100 (125, 150)m/125 (150, 175)yd
3.5mm needles
2m smooth waste yarn (for provisional cast on and holding thumb sts)
2 cable needles
Tape measure, yarn needle and scissors
If you do not have two cable needles try using one of the following: hairgrip, paperclip, locking stitch marker, safety pin, waste yarn.
If you don’t enjoy grafting and are happy to have a visible seam, simply cast off in pattern at the end of the headband and sew ends together.
