Are you joining Ravelry's Indie Giftalong 2024 this month? It's a wonderful event for crafters knitting or crocheting gifts for the festive season; seeking out a friendly craft community; or bargain hunting for great patterns by independent designers. I'll be a participating designer this year, so twenty of my independently published patterns are included amongst those eligible for the coupon code and all of my patterns including those you see free on this website are eligible to be worked on in the CALs/KALs.
If you're not using Ravelry or are interested in one of my patterns that's not discounted, you'll find I'm also participating in the Fasten off Yarn Along event this year, so take a look at my post here too for more details of a make-along event that is held entirely off Ravelry and with a discount covering all of my patterns on Etsy.
What's the Indie Giftalong 2024
The Indie Design Giftalong is a KAL/CAL event, taking place in a group on Ravelry, focused on making seasonal gifts (and why not make yourself a gift or two too!) from patterns designed by 220 independent designers. It lasts around six weeks and from 21st November US EST to the end of 31st December and includes fun quizzes, competitions, and eight KAL/CALs to help you get your seasonal makes ready in a fun atmosphere. You can find out more about the event in this group on Ravelry.
First buy your Giftalong patterns from participating designers' bundles of up to 20 patterns during the sale that takes place during the first week. Don't forget to use the coupon code giftalong2024 for 25% off each one you buy! Here's my bundle and here are the bundles for all the designers. You'll probabaly want to use the filters to find just the right patterns for you from the thousands available.
Then back in the Giftalong  group join any relevant KAL/CALs for each of the type of items you are making by posting in each KAL/CAL thread to let the team know the pattern name you will be making. After its complete, post back in the same thread and in the FO (Finished Object thread too. Those who do are eligible to win one of many lovely prizes (if making a paid pattern by any of the participating designers). You can work from any patterns by the participating designers, but projects from free patterns won't be eligible for prizes.
You'll find fun games, and a great chatty atmosphere, so don't hesitate; come join us! Do say hello if you see me online in one of the events. I'll be joining in too as I relax making a few projects from other people's patterns for once, including
Scraptacular Basket by Elimee Designs in the Home and Toys thread
Pilea Glauca Socks by Nicole Simmons in the Foot and Leg things thread
Bluestack Mountain Mittens by The Fairythorn in the hand and arm things thread
and I'll be sharing in my newsletter, the Ravelry Indie GAL group and on Instagram.
