I worked up the cowl in Drops Flora, a lovely wool alpaca blend which felt delightful and was a perfect blend of softness, springiness and good stitch definition, It needed evening out a little though and blocking overnight had it looked exactly as I'd hoped!

You can also make the cowl in other yarn weights, adjusting the number of repeats to get the squares the size you want. Helpful information for how to do that are in the pattern. How about an aran winter version or delicate linen one for summer. Holding your yarn with a strand of mohair laceweight could look really pretty too!
